Jordan Wolfson, one of the most influential artists of his generation, debuted his first virtual reality experience Real Violence at the 2017 Whitney Biennial in New York City. The experience confronts viewers with the duality of virtual reality by forcing the viewer to confront how the medium creates a sense of presence, without the capability to affect the outcome. Hailed as one of the "most powerful uses of virtual reality to ever grace a museum's halls" (Artsy), Real Violence will challenged viewers' perceptions of reality throughout the biennial.
